Brush 'em

Brush your teeth twice a day, in the morning and before bedtime, with fluoride toothpaste. Make sure to brush all sides of your teeth, as well as, your tongue.

Floss the ones you want to keep

Floss or use another between-the-tooth cleaner daily to remove plaque and bits of food from areas your toothbrush can't reach.

The greatest wealth is health

Eat a balanced diet for good general health and limit sugary snacks. Avoid tobacco, smokers are more likely to develop periodontal disease & tooth loss.

Come see us

Visit your dentist regularly. Professional cleanings are the only way to remove tartar, which traps bacteria along the gum line.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Dentist:

"A dentist, also known as a 'dental surgeon', is a health care practitioner that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases and conditions of the oral cavity….”

Periodontist:

“the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. Periodontal diseases…continue to be the leading cause of tooth loss in adults.”

Why are we both dentists and periodontists?

“47.2 percent, or 64.7 million American adults, have mild, moderate or severe periodontitis, the more advanced form of periodontal disease. In adults 65 and older, prevalence rates increase to 70.1 percent.”

Our Practice

We have been at the forefront of dental health in Michigan for almost one hundred years. Dr. Edgar James (Gloria's father) began practicing in 1921. He was board certified in periodontics in 1945.

Dr. Gloria Kerry followed in her father’s footsteps and began practicing periodontics in 1966. Dr. Karen began working with her mom in 1985. Dr. Julie joined the practice in 1988 when she received her specialty in periodontics.

Beyond sustaining your beautiful smile, today the Kerry Family of Ann Arbor Dentists offer you almost one hundred years of combined professional experience to help you achieve and sustain oral health!

Our Commitment

We’re dentists. We’re periodontists. We’re approved Delta Dental dentists and periodontists serving the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and so many more valued patients. We bring such education, experience and passionate care to your oral health that you may keep your teeth for life.

Our Technology

The Kerry Family of Ann Arbor Dentists offers you the latest in digital x-ray technology.

Digital x-rays offer a high-resolution image of your entire mouth with a 50% reduction in radiation over traditional film x-rays used by other dentists. X-rays play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems, as well as providing a clear picture for a dentist to accurately diagnose and provide necessary treatment. Not only do we reduce your exposure to radiation almost in half, but also the detailed accuracy of our dental equipment cuts your appointment time in half.

Ask about our other advanced dental equipment and procedures. The Kerry Family is dedicated to the proposition of providing the best dental care in Ann Arbor.

Testimonials

The Kerry Family of Ann Arbor Dentists currently treats over fourteen patients who are over ninety-years-old. They all have all their teeth.

I have been a patient of Kerry Family Periodontics working with three generations of the family for over sixty-three years. I am very grateful for the care, expertise and friendship that I have experienced. It is a tribute to the Kerry family that I still have all of my teeth and my health well into my nineties. Mandell L. Berman

Dr. Karen is by far the most detail oriented dentist I've ever been to. I have yet to find a dentist as awesome as she is, since I've moved to New Mexico! Erin Dughie
